The University of Maryland is coming up with a robot that will do whatever it is instructed to see. Right now they have a robot that can make a cocktail after only being showed a single time. It was able to grab the bottles of liquid in the correct order and pour the right amount of it in a jug. They are working on further enhancing this technology to handle more complicated tasks.
As the title states, new software will be the key to simulating the human brain. Once implemented, the next generation of computers will be 1,000x more powerful than the strongest supercomputer in operation today. The software will be able to process data at higher speeds than ever before. Because of this, it will allow scientists to further simulate the human brain. Complex operations would take thousands of years to process, while these new computers will only take a few minutes. On top of all this, these computers will be energy efficient.
